description: Beau Geste is a 2-bedroom, air-conditioned, luxury private villa with fabulous views overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The picture on the left shows the top floor, a complete studio apartment, with fabulous views, a 4-poster, queen-size bed, living and dining areas (the kitchen is on the left out-of-sight). This special space has a cathedral ceiling with skylights, transoms and sofit lighting. The picture on the right is of the downstairs bedroom on the ground floor with another queen-size bed and, in the background, a futon which opens into a full-size bed (not in the photograph is a second futon which opens into a twin-size bed). Both bedrooms have their own private bathrooms with double sink vanities and romantic indoor/outdoor showers. The bathroom upstairs has a bidet, and the bathroom in the downstairs bedroom has a small, native stone bathtub. Both bedrooms have walk-in closets with wall-safes for storing valuables. The middle picture is the private patio on the west side of Beau Geste with hammock under a palm tree (and a banana tree on the right).

Beau Geste is located on the south shore of St. John, about a 5 minute drive on paved roads to town (Cruz Bay) and to the Northshore Road where the famous, white sand beaches of the US Virgin Islands National Park are located. The closest beach for swimming and fabulous snorkeling is just a short 5 minute walk to Chocolate Hole -- a sandy beach with calm, protected water on the west side of the Villa. A path on the east side of this St John Villa leads directly to Hart Bay about 100 feet below which is the closest beach for great beachcombing and breaking waves. All the openings are fully-screened. Italian tile adorns the floors and kitchen and bathroom counters. Native stone work laced with local coral and shells frames the private swimming pool and hot tub. Lush landscaping includes palm trees and banana trees. Beau Geste is furnished with custom-made teak furniture and carvings from Bali and very tastefully decorated with original paintings, sconces and even a native mural. Beau Geste was designed by the award-winning, Boston architect John Sloan whose vacation rental villas can be found elsewhere in the Caribbean and Hawaii. This St John Villa is framed by the extraordinary "double" sunrise and sunset views afforded this remarkable site.

amenities: TV with DVD players in each bedroom, CD player with built-in wall speakers in the Penthouse Apartment, clock radio, movie + music collections, books, games, childen's toys, free WiFi internet access, printer, fax + answering machines; stainless steel appliances, BBQ gas grill, hammocks, pool, tennis/basketball court (60' x 120' with U.S. Open acrylic surface), tennis rackets, basketballs, beach toys; Ultra-Violet water purification system, dishwasher, laundry with washer and dryer; baby porta-cribs + highchairs, baby + toddler beach cabanas.

other notes: Beds: 2 queen-sized beds, one on the top floor and one in the downstairs bedroom. The downstairs bedroom also has two futons - one full and one twin futon; the studio apartment on top floor also has a futon that converts into a full size bed. We do not recommend that children under age 12 sleep alone in the downstairs bedroom as the upper and lower floors are connected by an exterior staircase (just visible in the picture of the pool on the left). 5 minute walk to to beaches: Hart Bay and Chocolate Hole harbor. We even saw the lunar eclipse on a clear, skyscraper-free evening. Absolutely though, our favorite thing to do was spending quiet time together on the beach and relaxing on the decks of Beau Geste.
